On my front cover I have placed strap lines at the top and the bottom in order to grab the readers attention and advertise to them what is in  this magazine. along with this i have made the background white, and the text bold with bright red writing so it will stand out to the reader when they are grazing. I have put a barcode, date, price and website on to make it look more realistic. Along with this the title for my magazine i chose was Torrent, i chose this because it means a large amount of something, which is what I am trying to get into my magazine for as little cost as possible. The main artist's picture is placed in the centre of the page, and it quite large, this is to show the reader the main article of the magazine and to grab their attention as there is a star on the front cover.

Good Joe, you are progressing steadily with this, However, you need to speed up! You should have completed all your planning by now and be starting production work this week. You need to write a first draft of your article for me to mark and post your photos on here before you work on them in photoshop. You cannot hope to complete this coursework in lesson time alone, you need to be working on this in your own time!

Analysis of band image

Indie bands are usually represented wearing casual clothes with their hands in their pockets which gives off a casual comfortable look for the reader to look at. also they are usually looking into the camera which is creating an informal feel which is associated with this genre of music. To carry on the informal feel the band/artist's picture is shot with a dull background with low lighting. This brings more attention to the artist and makes the reader look at them and not anything else, whilst representing the style of music. The clothes of which they are dressed in are typical to the genre of music and when seen on a front cover or music magazine they are instantly recognizable to readers what type of artists they are.

Target Audience

To find out more about my target audience and what they want in a magazine i decided to write my own questionnaire addressing the uncertainties i have about my magazine. I found out that between the ages of 16-18 the genre of music most popular with British males  of that age is indie music. From finding this out i have decided to carry on and produce an indie magazine for males of this age. Along with this I have found out that the artist on the front cover is the thing which most attracts people to buy a magazine and so should concentrate more on that the other things that will be included in my magazine. Also the average amount which people are willing to pay for a magazine is £4 with an equal amount saying they'd rather have a weekly magazine or a monthly one. With the level of pricing i believe it would be best to create a monthly magazine which will also enable be to include more content in the magazine.
